The newest catalogue of the Hungarian Convention Bureau, the “Hungary, the MICEst country” CD-ROM has been launched recently. Hopefully it will be a useful tool for all professionals as its database is completed with a searching system; by choosing different criteria – fi. capacity, type of venue, region etc. – one can have a list of the most adequate partners. The multilingual CD-ROM (in Hungarian, English and German) contains information on conference hotels, other meeting venues, PCOs & DMCs, and incentive program proposals. Beside the above-mentioned practical content a range of other sections can be found on the CD: a brief presentation of the country with useful contact details of Hungarian associations and the national carrier, extras like wallpapers, games, screensavers and Did you know?-page with some incredible facts, among many others. ABOUT ICCA
ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) was founded in 1963 by a group of travel agents. Their first and foremost aim was to evaluate practical ways to get the travel industry involved in the rapidly expanding market of international meetings and to exchange actual information related to their operations in this market. This initiative soon proved to have been taken at the right moment: the meeting industry expanded even more rapidly than foreseen. As a result of which candidates from all over the world applied for ICCA membership. Not only congress travel agents but representatives from all the various sectors of the meetings industry, airlines, PCO-s, Congress Bureaus, DMC-s, Congress and Exhibition Centres.
